Lauren is a licensed professional counselor trained to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders under supervision. Before joining Providers for Healthy Living, Lauren was an outpatient program supervisor at PARC East in Charleston, WV, where she managed a substance abuse treatment facility and provided a variety of substance use and mental health services to adults in outpatient settings. She has bachelor's degrees in creative writing (cum laude) and biology (cum laude) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a master's degree in community counseling (summa cum laude) from West Virginia University. Lauren has experience in co-occurring and outpatient addiction programs, and is interested in obtaining addiction certification.  She mainly utilizes CBT, Impact Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Insight Therapy, and DBT interventions in treatment.  She is experienced in working with co-occurring residential, outpatient, and medically assisted treatment clients, as well as medical and legal professionals.
